Practigut Supramid Polyamide is a brand of suture from AIP Medical and is 100% Belgian made. It is a non-absorbable polyfilament suture made from Polyamide 6, a white, semi-crystalline thermoplastic also known as polycaprolactam obtained by polymerisation of ε-caprolactam.
Practigut Supramid is white in colour and provides high tensile strength and excellent, permanent tissue support. In addition, its synthetic nature ensures that the use of Supramid results in minimal tissue reaction. Furthermore, its twisted structure gives it great handling properties as well as flexibility and excellent knot security. Finally, this multifilament yarn in a sheath guarantees a saw-free passage through the tissue during use.
Practigut Supramid is ideally suited for suturing and ligating soft tissue and especially for skin suturing.
AIP Medical Practigut Supramid is available in cassettes for use in veterinary medicine. For more information, please see the technical information below or contact our team of experts.
