Practimono PDO

Absorbable Polydioxanone (PDO) suture

Description

Practimono PDO sold by AIP Medical is a 100% Belgian made suture brand. This long resorption monofilament suture consists of polydioxanone, a polymer made from polyester polydioxanone (pdioxanone).

Practimono PDO offers a high tensile strength. Moreover, its uniform microscopic diameter avoids the sawing effect and makes it a handy and flexible yarn. In addition, it glides smoothly over the tissues without causing any degradation as it passes through it. Finally, the absence of capillary effect prevents bacterial proliferation.

Practimono PDO offers a long absorption, from 180 to 210, similar to Practilac sutures. This absorption is achieved by hydrolytic action.

This suture is suitable for different types of soft tissue surgery that require a very long tissue support time. Its use is therefore perfectly suited to the needs of general surgery, but also to gastrointestinal surgery and orthopedics. A contraindication to its use exists, however, for cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery.

Our Practimono PDO is available in dozens or cassettes for veterinary use. For more information, please contact us.
