Practicron Polyester

Non-absorbable suture made of Polyester

Description

Practicron is AIP Medical’s brand of polyester sutures. It is a multifilament, non-absorbable suture made of polyester, a polymer of polyethylene terephthalate. It has a silicone coating and the suture can be green or white in color. The non-absorbable coating acts as a lubricant. By offering easy application to the tissue and ease of use, this suture improves the physical properties of the uncoated braided suture.

Practicron has an excellent tensile strength, high softness and flexibility with excellent braiding which make it a choice for cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgery. In addition, these sutures have very low tissue reaction, do not degrade and retain their resistance to repetitive traction indefinitely. It is an excellent choice for soft tissue sutures and ligatures, especially in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and orthopedic surgery. There is a contraindication to the use of this suture in patients with known sensitivities or allergies to polyester and silicone. The Practicron surgical suture is single use.

Practicron is available in boxes of dozens for medical use. For more information about the product, please contact our team.
